Enzymes (SGOT/SGPT), bilirubin, albumin and total protein.
Why it is ordered
To detect liver damage, hepatitis or jaundice.
How to prepare
Fasting may be advised; follow your lab’s instructions.
What happens during the test
A blood sample is drawn from a vein.
Normal ranges

Ranges vary slightly between laboratories.
What abnormal results may mean
Raised enzymes or bilirubin may indicate liver inflammation or blockage.
