To investigate cough, breathlessness, chest pain or infection.
How to prepare
Remove metal objects; inform staff if you may be pregnant.
What happens during the test
You stand against a plate while a quick X-ray image is taken.
What abnormal results may mean
Shadows or changes may indicate infection, fluid or other lung conditions — read by a radiologist.
